Carnival

  • Tradition and Modernity: A mix of the ancient “Entroido berciano” and contemporary celebrations. High participation: the children’s parade had over 3,237 participants, including kids and adults.
  • Contest with prizes: For Tuesday’s parade there are significant prizes, encouraging creativity and effort from the groups.
  • Entroido Parade: Starts at C.C. La Herrería, passes through Avda. de España, Avda. Pérez Colino, Avda. del Castillo, C/ Gil y Carrasco, ending at Town Hall Square.
  • Children’s Carnival: Gathering at the back of the “Lydia Valentín” Municipal Sports Pavilion at 15:30, parade starts at 16:00. Route through Avda. de Asturias, Glorieta de la Libertad, C/ General Gómez Núñez, Avda. de Valdés, etc.
  • Tuesday Parade: Departure from the Ponferrada Municipal Auditorium or Avda. de Portugal depending on the source; arrival at Town Hall Square.
