ROUTE DESCRIPTION
- Start: The itinerary usually begins at the Campo de las Danzas, a site with panoramic views over Ponferrada and the Bierzo Valley. The place is associated with legends of ancient ancestral rites.
- Route: From the Campo de las Danzas, the path follows a forest track that ascends gradually and steadily. It mainly passes through pine forests, offering a very pleasant natural environment.
- La Aquiana: The culmination of the route is the summit of La Aquiana (1,846 m), where a hermitage is located. It is known for its magnetism and the legends surrounding it.
- Views: The ascent offers splendid views over the Hoya del Bierzo, the Valley of Silence, the Cabrera, and other areas of the Montes Aquilianos.
- Variants: There are different route variants, with the possibility of continuing to nearby peaks such as Pico Tuerto or completing a circular route.
